Greg, a carpenter by trade, was born in Hollywood Florida on Dec. 9, 1977. He was a hard worker and moved to North Carolina in 2001 for greater opportunities. There, he was quickly embraced by new friends, with whom he was often known as a jester for his quick wit and fun-loving nature. But Greg also had a quiet, often pensive side. He loved nature, boating, fishing and studying history. He often shared photos of the beautiful North Carolina mountains, and later of places he visited during one year when he took to the road as a trucker and traveled through nearly every state.
Far more important than anything to Greg was his family. Immediate family survivors include his beloved daughter, Alicia Renee Minnihan, now 13; Victoria Lugo Minnihan, his former wife and mother of Alicia—and always his closest love and friend. He is also survived by his mother, Leslie V. Curtis of Deerfield Beach, Florida; his father, Richard W. Minnihan, of Punta Gorda, Florida; his brothers, Corey R. Minnihan of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and Casey B. Curtis of Doylestown Pennsylvania
Greg’s last post on Facebook was a June 15, 2014 entry, which speaks volumes about his priorities and pride in his daughter: “Alicia got the highest scores on every end of the year test in her class! !! Bamn!!”
Services to celebrate Greg’s life will be conducted in Florida at a date to be announced to his family and friends.
