Paul Taylor Wannamaker was born December 18, 1957 in Livingston, New Jersey to Ann R. and William D. Wannamaker. On June 28, 2014, he passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at his home in Clearwater, Florida.

Paul, as he moved with his family, was raised in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida. As a child, he showed a real talent for design, and spent many happy hours constructing things. He attended Great Valley High School in Malvern, Pennsylvania and Clearwater High School in Clearwater, Florida. While in high school, he was a member of the Junior ROTC, and achieved the rank of Captain. He did his undergraduate studies at St. Petersburg University in St. Petersburg, Florida and at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Apostles College in Cromwell, Connecticut. He devoted much of his adult life to the research of Biblical history, and wrote several papers for publication. Paul was active in his church, enjoyed chess and science fiction, and had a terrific sense of humor. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing. Paul enjoyed laughter and joy in life, and he was a true friend.

Paul is survived by his mother, Ann R. Wannamaker of Cashiers, North Carolina, two brothers (William D. of San Francisco, California and Andrew L. of Pendleton, Kentucky), two sisters (Kelly W. Lao of Newville, Pennsylvania and Claire W. Flowers of Holiday, Florida), a niece, and a nephew. Paul was a beloved son, brother, and best friend, and he will always have a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. A memorial Mass for Paul will be held in Edisto, South Carolina, date to be announced. He will be interred in the Wannamaker plot in Adams Run, South Carolina.
