High-speed chase from South Carolina ends in three-vehicle Cashiers crash

CASHIERS -- A fleeing driver led lawmen on a high-speed chase from South Carolina Wednesday afternoon before crashing his car into two pickup trucks in Cashiers. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies were seen loading the handcuffed man into the back of a sheriff’s office cruiser following the crash, which occurred at the intersection of N.C. Highway 107 South and Frank Allen Road.

The eastern end of Frank Allen Road was closed to traffic for at least an hour as emergency workers tended the scene.
