Library Bookstore Clearance June 14-16
By Adair Simon / Special to the Chronicle
CASHIERS -- Yes, Virginia, there is such a thing as a free book! The Friends of Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library announce the group’s annual Bookstore Clearance set for June 14-16 in the meeting room of the library.
Clearance hours include:
• 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday.
• 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday.
• 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
The books, which the generous southern Jackson County community has donated, are available at no charge. Since this is the FOL’s big fundraiser, donations of any amount are gratefully accepted and all proceeds will be applied to the FOL mission of supporting the Cashiers library. Books of all varieties and for all ages will be available.
“It always amazes me how many recent best-sellers people give us,” FOL President Bonnie Zacher said. “Whether people want fiction, history, politics or other non-fiction books, we have numerous books, on just about every subject.” FOL volunteers will have organized the books into different sections in order to make browsing more efficient.
In addition to the June 14-16 clearance, a special preview night will be offered for members of Friends of the Library 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13. FOL members will have advance opportunity to select books. Join this group by becoming a member of the FOL. Membership forms are available at the front desk of the library.
