Third-generation trout farmer to speak at Cashiers library Oct. 6
CASHIERS -- Wes Eason, a third-generation trout farmer at Sunburst Trout Farm, which was founded by his grandfather, Dick Jennings, is scheduled to speak 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 at Albert Carlton-Cashiers Public Library during a special Friends of the Library-sponsored presentation.
He will talk about what it has been like to raise trout since 1948.
Eason said that “people really enjoy a a bit of a story” about the story behind the fresh trout they are eating in Asheville and on the Cashiers-Highlands plateau.
“They’re really intrigued by the tales of what we’ve been through and where we are now,” said Eason.
