Jim Stiwinter, 72, of Cullowhee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Willean Stiwinter and the son of the late Odell and Baye Stiwinter.
He was a member of Cashiers Church of God. He was retired from Duke Power Energy and loved to fish and hunt deer and bear. He dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Willean Stiwinter; one daughter, Melissa Stiwinter; and one son, Jamie (Katie) Stiwinter. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael (Dora), Jessie, Dylan, Chloe and Paige; two great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Alivia; and one brother, Roger (Phyllis) Stiwinter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service was conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Cashiers Church of God with the Rev. Ricky Potts, the Rev. Robert Harrison and the Rev. David Hall III. The family received friends two hours prior to the service from 1:30 until 3:30 pm at the church.
