Marshall Carr Ferrell

Marshall Carr Ferrell, Jr., age 90, a summer resident of Glenville, North Carolina passed away at his home in Tampa, Florida on January 23, 2017.  He had been in poor health for many years.

Marshall and his family built their home in Big Ridge Subdivision in 1972 and enjoyed being there during the summer months. They enjoyed their view of the mountains, but enjoyed their neighbors even more.

Marshall’s life was celebrated at a service at St. Andrew’s Church in Tampa on February 1, 2017. He will be interred at the cemetery at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Cashiers, on February 11 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Rob Wood officiating.

Marshall is survived by his wife, Isabelle, his daughters, Leigh Metzger and Lynn Millinoff and his son, Marshall Ferrell III.  He had six grandchildren, as well as two nephews and two nieces; children of sister, Betty Failing and brother, Wilson Ferrell, who also survive him.

A graveside service will take place at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 1448 Highway 107 South, Cashiers, NC  28717 on February 11th at 2:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at Hines Hall, located at the Church.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the charity of your choice, The Church of the Good Shepherd, PO Box 32, Cashiers, NC 28717, or the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society.
