Mary Lou Ramey, age 65, of Mountain Rest, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022.
She was born in Highlands, NC on June 16, 1957, to the late Charles Frank Railey and the late Margie Faye Railey. She worked for Highlands Community Child Development Center in Highlands, NC for 25 years before retiring. She loved singing for the Lord, scrapbooking, sewing, camping, and spending time with family. Most of all, she loved the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior, and she wanted everyone around her to come to know Christ like she knew Him.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Lucille Ramey, a brother, JC Railey, and her half-sisters and brothers.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles Robert Ramey; children, Ronda (Rusty) Wolfrey of Sylva, NC, Wendy (Terry) Glasscoe of Thomasville, NC, Kimberly (Nathan) Rigsby, of Lake Toxaway, NC, and Cory Ramey of Mountain Rest, SC; five grandchildren, Josh Wolfrey, Kaitlyn Wolfrey, Daniel O’Connor, JT Holland, and Jackson Glasscoe; sister, Betty Fields of Seneca, SC, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Blue Valley Baptist Church in Highlands, NC, with the memorial service and a meal following afterward. Pastor Rusty Wolfrey and Pastor Oliver Rice will officiate.
