Wilma Ruth Holt Billingsley, 78, of Scaly Mountain, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022.
Born on July 5, 1943, she is the daughter of the late Claude Wesley Holt and Mary Ethel Cantrell Holt. She was preceded by her husband of 54 years Homer Lee Billingsley.
Ruth was a faithful woman who loved to spend time with her family and attended Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Sherry Holt (Keith), Carolyn Raby (Randy), Lynn Vinson (Scott) and Keith “Cricket” Billingsley (Gina); seven grandchildren, Garrett Holt, Christopher Raby, Keri Raby, Kassie Bradley (Trevor), Megan Vinson, Whitney Billingsley, and Jake Billingsley; two great-grandchildren, Jaylin Raby and Jase Raby; two sisters, Marie Carver and Polly Norris; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her husband Homer, she is preceded by two sisters, Claudette Chastain and Frances Holt; and one brother Robert (Bob) Holt.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Kilby and Rev. Cale Stancil officiating. Burial followed the service at the Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mac Kilby, Garrett Holt, Christopher Raby (Janice), Jake Billingsley, Zach Gragg, Neal Chastain, and Trevor Bradley.
The family received friends Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 6 – 8 p.m., at Hunter Funeral Home.
