Ron Lee Tomlinson

Ron Lee Tomlinson, 78, a former resident, was born March 12, 1940 in Dearborn, Michigan and died at his home in South Carolina on July 22, 2018.

He was predeceased by his father, Ernest Lee Tomlinson; his mother, Margaret Laurich Tomlinson; and his sister, Cary Tomlinson Stranyak.

Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his brother, Richard E. Tomlinson; his sons, Ron Jr. and Scott; and his daughter, Jodi, and their families.  In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Meril and Reid; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends; and his caregiver of several years, Tammy Quinn.

Mr. Tomlinson graduated from Edsel Ford High School, Dearborn, Michigan State University and the University of Chicago School of Business.

Among other business interests, Mr. Tomlinson was a successful financial advisor for JC Bradford Company in Charlotte for many years. He also served as a eucharistic minister at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Charlotte, and served on its pastoral council.

After retiring, Mr. Tomlinson moved to Sapphire Valley, where he resided until health problems prompted his move to South Carolina. While living in Sapphire Valley, He was very active at St. Jude Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Charlotte on Aug. 3.
