Thomas William “TW” Stiwinter
Thomas William “TW” Stiwinter, 83, of Cullowhee, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2018.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late L.C. Stiwinter and Ruby Fox Stiwinter.
He was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church.
He enjoyed gardening, coon hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Rice Stiwinter; four children, Darren Stiwinter of Cullowhee, Scott Stiwinter of Hendersonville, Darrell Stiwinter of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Kay Boggs of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one brother, Jack Stiwinter of Waxhaw; two sisters, Ronnie Stiwinter of Franklin and Lola Mae Stewart of Jodytown; three grandchildren, Drew, Garrett and Hannah; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at Yellow Mountain Baptist Church. The Rev. Carl Stepp, the Rev. Keith Ashe and the Rev. Rick Potts officiated.
Burial was in the Stewart Cemetery.
The family received friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers included Garrett Stiwinter, Drew Stiwinter, Chris Stiwinter, Roger Stiwinter, J.L. Stewart and Jeff Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers included Eric Mauldin, Lewis Stiwinter, JR Stiwinter and Jim Stiwinter.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Stewart Cemetery Fund. Macon Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
