William Joseph Hoak, 71, a resident of Deming, New Mexico, entered eternal rest on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1946 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Thomas Clark Hoak and Elizabeth Jane Williamson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Norton Hoak; one brother, Scott Presley and his wife, Nancy; his mother-in-law, Helen Norton; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Norton; his nephews-in-law, Christian and Chandler Norton; one grandson, Jeremy Burris and his wife, Leann; and one great-granddaughter, Riley Burris. All live in North Carolina.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for nine years. Beginning in 1968 and he was a Vietnam veteran.
A memorial service was on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ronald Binder officiating. The internment was at Fort Bayard National Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
