Registering to vote is easy -- Cashiers voting registration sites announced
If you aren’t registered to vote in the upcoming Nov. 6 election, now is the time to do so and we encourage you to take action. The deadline to register is less than a month away -- it’s 5 p.m. Oct. 12.
Many important offices will be decided in the election -- both in Jackson County and statewide. Remember, as the saying goes, if you don’t vote, you shouldn’t complain later about who gets elected.
There are several register-to-vote programs coming up in Cashiers, including 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 at Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-5:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at Cashiers Ingles and 9:30 a.m.-noon and 3-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Cashiers-Glenville Recreation Center.
Identification is needed to register -- a driver's license, state ID or Social Security number.
