Halloween in Highlands is a special event every year, and 2022 was certainly no exception.

I rediscovered the community core and future of Highlands this past Monday.

The town board meeting last Thursday was a marathon session, with almost every item on the agenda taking longer than anticipated. Let me hit some of the highlights, or rather the “longlights.”

One-stop early voting opened in North Carolina on Thursday, Oct. 20 and will remain an option for voters through Saturday, Nov. 5.

Highlands School has a legacy of being one of the finest schools in the state of North Carolina when it comes to educating its students.

As the mayor I continually meet with community groups, both here in Highlands and also in the Western Carolina region.  These meetings constantly reminded me of our shared concerns.
